Apart from the fact that this unique sequence of identical number in terms of day, month and year would appear only after a gap of 89 years, astrologers say the troika of 12-12-12 would no doubt be auspicious for those going for purchasing land or property, planning to set up educational institutions or starting a new venture. On the flip side, the date would deprive newborns of moon's blessings given the fact that the day would be followed by a no-moon day (Amavasya) which directly affects the mind and emotions of a human being. This would perhaps be the first time five planets converge on a single zodiac sign, Vrishchik (Scorpio) in the process creating a 'panchagrahi yoga' which in no way would benefit the sign holders, opine astrologers.
Stating that while the moment would be auspicious in terms of buying and selling considering that the sum of all three digits is 3 which denotes Jupiter, a planet associated with 'dhan' (finance), knowledge and wisdom. But the date would not benefit newborns given the fact that they would be deprived of qualities endowed by the moon as the latter's position on this day would be deliberate. The following day being a no-moon day (Amavasya), newborns would be deprived of its blessings, as moon controls mind and emotions of human beings, said an astrologer and Vaastu expert, Ashutosh Varshney.
He said on account of the unusual planetary configuration of sun, moon, Venus, rahu and Mercury inside Vrishchik (Scorpio) means those born under the sign should give alms in form of dahi (curd) and chawal (rice) to poor and needy and pay obeisance to Lord Shiva.
Sharing similar views, another astrologer and religious teacher, Pandit Vipul Tripathi said children born on this day would be well advised to wear pearl throughout their lives to earn the blessings of moon and escape tension and worry.
For those planning to set up new educational institutions and going for purchase of land or property, the day would be ideal owing to the fact that the unusual combination of numbers and planetary position would usher in the 'Anuradha Nakshatra' which is most auspicious for such cause. The phase will continue till 8.22 pm on 12-12-2012, he said.
For mentally ill persons, it would trigger restlessness and anxiety after midnight as they will have to bear the effect of Lunar influence in the backdrop of the fact that next day would be a no-moon day.
Likewise those born under the Scorpio sign should avoid argument and keep their emotions and anger under control owing to panchagrahi yoga, he advised.
Pramod Pande director of Jawahar Planetarium said except for the fact that it is the combination of three identical numbers, the date does not assume any significance in terms of astronomy. The only point is that such a unqiue phenomenon would only be witnessed after a gap of 89 years in 2101, he said.
